Liu Er Gang born in 1947, he is a leading figure in Chinese Literati Painting and calligraphy. His fondness in Chinese literature and conventional Chinese philosophy are reflected in his paintings. The character and taste of his art are profound but yet are often depicted in a simplistic way. He has published many catalogues and books, his works was featured in many important art exhibitions and auctions, including the prestigious Beijing Guardian International Auction in 1997.
